How Toxic Are You? A Detox Series Part 1/6

How Toxic Are You? A Detox Series Part 1/6

How toxic are you?  If you breathe, drink, eat, drive, clean, or use personal care products, the answer is a resounding “VERY!” This important detox series will help you improve the health of your entire family from the youngest to eldest members.

Even new born babies are toxic.

The Environmental Working Group conducted research on cord blood and found over 200 toxins in the blood—many of them known to cause cancer.  Yes, cancer.  But, that’s not all.  These toxins are making us sick in lots of ways.  You can get the skinny from Dr. Stephen Genuis.

You’ve heard me rant before about the toxins we’re exposed to every day.  I even taught a 5 week class identifying the toxins and how to reduce your exposure.  Reducing your exposure is step one in creating good health.

I see people every day in my office suffering from a heavy body burden from toxins.  If you have headaches, joint aches, acne, excess belly fat, estrogen dominance, poor memory, brain fog, depression, fatigue….well, you get the picture.  The list of symptoms goes on and on and on.  Of course, these symptoms can have other causes besides toxic over load, but when I test for toxins, they are usually present.

I cannot overstate how important it is for you to determine if toxicity is playing a role in your chronic health problems,  Clearing toxins will leave you feeling more energized, more mentally sharp, and ready to tackle the world.  It might even enable you to normalize your blood pressure and cholesterol.  Wouldn’t that be nice?

Basically, everyone should detox at least twice a year except women who are pregnant or nursing as well as individuals who are experiencing a health crisis.  Women who are pregnant or nursing need to keep the toxins in their bodies as stable as possible.  We used the think the placenta would protect the baby, but now we know that’s not true.  If you’re like me and you have children already, don’t feel “mommy guilt.”  We did the best we could with the information we had at the time, right?

If you’re a young woman who’s looking forward to getting pregnant, plan about one year to best prepare your body.  Detoxification is one great step you can take to prepare for pregnancy.

If you’re experiencing a health crisis, detoxification needs to be put on hold until your body is better able to handle the demands of detoxification.  However, I encourage you to read my next blog about preparing your body for detoxification.  Just the steps listed in that blog will help your body get stronger.
