Gratitude Attitude

grat·i·tude a noun: gratitude

the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return the kindnessSynonyms: gratefulness, thankfulness, thanks, appreciation, indebtedness; Origin: late Middle English: from Old French, or from medieval Latin gratitudo, from Latin gratus ‘pleasing, thankful.’

In the past three months the gratitude attitude has been surrounding me. Literally the Universe is sending me sign after sign to be more grateful and thankful for all that I have, and am right now, in this moment.

Then on Sunday during a mastermind group I am involved with, we all decided that this week we would concentrate on being grateful for everything. To spend a week being grateful for the work that has to be done on my house, the dogs teeth need to be attended to and numerous other in your face kinda smacks, I will be honest, it took effort and real thought to stay in a place of gratitude. I wasn’t perfect by any means, and I am learning that the more grateful I am for every moment, the easier my life flows. I find solutions to every issue with effortless ease. I find that people are reacting to me in a more positive manner and I am being helped, without having to ask and the days seem brighter.

Every morning before I set foot on the ground I attempt to thank God/Universe/Spirit. It changes daily, and that is the best part. I am finding more and more thing to be thankful for as the days pass. The past few days have been trying, but reality is that it really hasn’t been, it’s been easy. When I stop feeling badly and start feeling grateful for what I do have, it instantly changes my perception. I am grateful for that too!

Question is, if it’s so amazing to be grateful and allows our life to move easier and better, and if it’s the answer to creating all that will be for the better, then why are we not doing this more?? ALL THE TIME PEOPLE? I wouldn’t write a whole page on this if it wasn’t working or I didn’t find it completely life-changing. So let’s try it for a week, one week be totally aware of every moment and being grateful for everything…the dog barking, the phone call that changed my 3 pm appointment today to 2 pm on Friday. I am grateful for a full day off to write this and clean my basement, because of the new carpet that was installed yesterday, I am grateful for it all!

I will continue on my quest to be grateful for everything that presents itself to me. I am grateful you took the time to read this, and If you have any advice or ways that being grateful has changed your life, please email me your stories and lets get them on this blog so other too may start being more grateful in every moment for everything that happens! Let’s start a grateful wave of appreciation!
