Who would NOT be good clients for this type of hypnosis?
There are 4 main personalities that would find this type of hypnosis to be difficult:
- Victim mentality
- Strong attachment to ego
- Empty vessels
The main idea is that you understand that you are responsible for your own healing. People who tend to have a victim-mentality would have a more difficult time with this type of hypnosis because they would look for me, the hypnotist, to do the healing for them. But this is not how it works. I help the client access their own wisdom and power so that they can help themselves.
It is also helpful for clients to leave their ego out of it as much as possible. In this way, they can access the information that would actually bring them joy and healing - not the information that would only make their ego feel better. A person who is scared to go deep within themselves will have a more difficult time with this type of hypnosis.
A person who believes they are completely devoid of inner wisdom would also not be good for this type of hypnosis. I once had a client who said that she is, at her core, nothing; and that any bit of wisdom she receives, she receives from sources outside of herself. This was not a good method for her because she would not acknowledge her inner wisdom even as she was accessing it.
This type of hypnosis relies heavily on “playing along” with the imagination. If a person refuses to play along for the duration of the session, then they will end up acknowledging only their analytical mind for problem solving and not their creative mind for seeing from another perspective. They must acknowledge that “We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” (Albert Einstein)
So, really, as long as you believe that:
- You are responsible for your own well-being; and
- You have all the answers for your highest joy within you,
You’ll find this type of hypnosis to be excellent in bringing more joy and fulfillment into your life.
