Ease Your Stress With a Few Deep Breaths

Deep breaths are one of the best ways to reduce feelings of stress and overwhelm. When you breathe deeply, you send a message from your body to your brain, as well as to your nervous system, that all is well and you can relax. You’ll get a calmer heart, reduced blood pressure, and reduced tension and constriction in the body. Your brain will work better, giving you greater clarity and increased problem-solving ability.

So check in with yourself various times during the day. Chances are you will find yourself breathing more shallowly, into your chest. That’s a good time to take three good deep belly breaths and get your breathing back on track.
