Today I was in the bank and decided to ask the teller what sort of New Year's Resolutions he has made. He was somewhat reluctant to divulge anything personal. He gave me vague response along the theme of "we'll see what happens". I imagined that he didn't want to tell me something about relationships or personal fitness or that he felt that his resolutions were not impressive enough. I pressed him a bit when I lobbed him a question about travel or new adventures. He then revealed me that he wasn't thinking of plans for big experiences but rather he was resolving to pursue small, managable things. He wants to eat better, to work out every day.
