3 ways to improve ED you might only hear in THIS doctor’s office – PART 1 (follow me for the next two blogs to get the full picture!)

Yes I said ED as in “erectile dysfunction” and based on the number of Viagra and Cialis commercial's these days (not just during the Jerry Springer show…we’re talking PRIME TIME) I know I’ve got your attention so let’s get right down to business.

Way #1: increase your intake of vegetables and fruits.

Now I'm sure very few of you are completely surprised that's my first piece of advice (and not just because I know that sometimes I sound like a broken record) but these days you don’t have to be a Nutritional Counselor to know there’s literally GOBS of hard science pointing directly to the relationship between high intake of fresh whole produce and improved health.

But I know you want to know more about the relationship between increasing your intake of fresh whole produce and ED specifically so first let me ask you a question: did you ever stop to wonder why most heart attacks occur within a couple of hours of eating? It's because when someone consumes a typical American meal (which typically consists of processed food cooked in lots of crappy fat) the human vascular system constricts dramatically, becomes paralyzed, and stays paralyzed for several hours…the bottom line is that the simple act of eating is often the perfect recipe for a heart attack.

But in 2003 the University of Maryland Medical School conducted a GROUNDBREAKING study: they separated participants into two groups and put one group on Juice Plus (which is nothing more than dehydrated vegetables and fruits...feel free to ask me or more info!) Then they measured all participants' bloodflow, fed everyone a McDonald's meal, then measured everyone's bloodflow again. Of course I'm leaving out a bunch of details for simplicity's sake but just guess which group experienced very little vascular constriction and almost no paralysis? Of course it was the Juice Plus group.

Now most people who know me know I'm a HUGE advocate of Juice Plus because it's the only “supplement” that’s actually regulated by the USDA since it’s nothing more than dehydrated produce and is therefore THE NEXT BEST THING to fresh whole produce. But because there are SOOOOOOOOOO many reasons why it's always better to EAT 9-13 servings of fresh whole produce every day, I typically reserve my Juice Plus recommendation for folks who simply can’t or won’t eat their veggies (and under those conditions, of course, Juice Plus is their only option unless they'd simply rather just kiss their health goodbye.)

All that being said, I’m guessing that many of you are now suddenly VERY interested in eating 9-13 servings of fresh whole produce every day but, truthfully, you don't know how.
