Augusta has been practicing yoga for years. She learned from the best certified Iyengar yoga teachers. Her passion led her to complete a degree in yoga instruction at Scottsdale C. College. She learned yoga philosophy and history, biomechanics, anatomy, detailed postural alignment, therapeutics and the art of teaching, as well as principles of the breath, meditation, postural sequencing, observation, verbal and physical adjustments, use of voice, and organization of course curriculum. What inspired me to become a wellness professional?
I have been always been driven by a desire to help. This can be seen in my time as an attorney, advocating for those who cannot, and in my 20 years in social services, I have always had the dream to support improvement in people’s lives and help them achieve their goals of being happy and living life to the fullest. I am a believer in health and well-being, as well as cultivating a partnership that develops a healthy body and a healthy mind. How my clients describe their first visit?
...you are teaching classical Iyengar yoga principles of alignment which are so sadly missing in much of yoga teaching today but which are essential to maximizing benefit while keeping the student safe. Also, as you guide your students through the poses you do it in a warm and compassionate manner which I have often found lacking in some Iyengar yoga teachers I have had experience with in the past.
