What inspired me to become a wellness professional?
My love of movement through sports and dance first guided me towards the idea of working in the health and wellness field. My first dance class in college was Salsa and I loved it so much I decided to minor in it! That love of movement worked itself into a love of healing and helping others and I found physical therapy and yoga as my favorite tools. I've picked up quite a few modalities over the years and continue to be inspired through conversation with others who have benefitted from holistic approaches to health.
How my clients describe their first visit?
Interactive, collaborative, fun, educational and a little sweaty.
What I say to someone who has never tried pelvic floor physical therapy?
You have all the power- to say no, yes, move slower, that's helping, etc. It's a very simple approach of one lubed and gloved finger but respect and communication is key when it comes to treating someone's pelvic floor dysfunction. Once an internal exam and treatment are done, there is so much more to cover! I make sure to address the whole being - body, mind, and spirit.
