As a midwife, I believe that pregnancy and birth is as much an emotional and spiritual journey as a physical one.
Learn more about Emily
I am down-to-earth and optimistic. I am a mother of 3 wonderful kids who are all tweens or teens now. I love dating my husband: we watch sci-fi movies and explore the mountains in Colorado. Besides midwifery, which I firmly believe is the best job ever, I teach chemistry at a couple of homeschool co-ops, I knit hats to give to my clients' babies, I read all kinds of books, and I experiment in the kitchen.
What inspired me to become a wellness professional?
My youngest two siblings were born at home, and I planned to have my babies at home too! My oldest had other ideas and needed to come by c-section. It was after I had my second at home that I knew for sure that I wanted to help other women experience the joy that is homebirth.
What I say to someone who has never tried
Your body knows how to give birth. Your job is to teach yourself to trust your body. Your partner, your support team, and your midwifery team will help you trust the process.
