About Me
I believe that people are more than their diagnosis. Everyone has suffering in life, and I have helped people with a wide spectrum of issues ranging from the common cold to pain associated with stage four cancer. My years helping people who are in recovery from addictions has helped me craft a skill set to be able to assist during even chronic, tricky ailments of all sorts. My parents had been seeing an acupuncturist since I was a young child. Somewhere between 12-15 years old (it's funny thinking back that far isn't it?), I had my first treatment to help me with anxiety. My practitioner put the needles in and I instantly felt relief. Very often people people meet me for a first visit and feel hope. There's some new context or a way forward from a Chinese Medicine perspective. Very often, even after one treatment, people feel like they are beginning to trend in a better direction.
What I say to someone who has never tried Acupuncture ?
Acupuncture is based on the theories of Chinese Medicine. From that perspective, your ailment will mostly live at one of three "levels" the "wei level (superficial)" "ying level (moderate)" or "yuan level (deep)." The uses of that understanding are many. For new patients the thing to know is that the amount of time it can take for recovery from ailments is usually based on which level the disharmony exists. Surface level issues: Hours to days, Moderate level issues: Days to weeks. Yuan level issues: one or more seasons.
