Kat first began her yoga practice for personal healing in the late 1990s. Over the years she has completed multiple yoga teacher trainings, beginning with the Satchidananda Hatha Yoga tradition (Advanced Level 1 Training). She also earned certification in Hot Power Vinyasa after becoming interested in the Bikram and Baptiste methods. In 2011, her personal interest brought her to the practice of Ashtanga Yoga, and in 2011, Kat traveled to Mysore, India to study under Saraswathi at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute.
