My interest in herbs as medicine, whole foods and birthing babies has been my passion since early childhood. When I was pregnant with my first child in 1976 I chose a midwife for my birth, which sparked my desire to provide this kind of care for all women. I began as a Doula, attending births, when my daughter was 8-months old and then become a childbirth and lactation educator. My midwifery apprenticeship began in 1983, and I began my practice in a very large rural and urban community in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1985.
I moved to Oregon in 1988, where I continued my homebirth practice...
