What inspired me to become a wellness professional?
I was a student of Aikido (a Japanese martial art) when I began to learn Zen Shiatsu (Japanese acupressure). I found it fascinating, and I quickly discovered I had a gift for doing bodywork. When I took my first CranioSacral Therapy class I felt a "Eureka!" moment: This is what I am supposed to be doing!!
I loved the light touch and knew this was a way to collaborate with my clients, not try to force them to do anything. I still have that sense of wonder and the belief that by working together we can achieve balance and true health.
How my clients describe their first visit?
"Phil knows where to go without me saying a word"
"Light touch, and it goes surprisingly deep"
"I didn't think much was happening, but lots has changed"
What I say to someone who has never tried CranioSacral Therapy or BodyTalk?
This is not your typical Swedish massage!
When I work in-person, the client is fully clothed. I use light stretches (CST) and tapping (BT) as well as off the body energy balancing techniques.
When I do distant sessions I still use all my same set of techniques, I just need to connect energetically first. The most common client response is a deep sense of relaxation and the easing of pain.
