An important aspect of healing the stomach from H. pylori is to recover the musosa (mucus lining that protects the cells of the stomach from stomach acid) of the gut lining which has been damaged by the bacteria. Mucilaginous foods and herbs are important to consider here, such as slippery elm, marshmellow root, chia/flax seed and aloe juice.
It is also important to avoid foods that increase the production of stomach acid and irritate the ulcer, such as - alcohol, chocolate, carbonated beverages, highly acidic foods (tomatoes, citrus), and fried foods.
Once the bacteria has been neutralized, reinoculating with a high-quality probiotic will be important to restore balance of healthy bacteria. Check out emerson ecologics for a list of high-quality probiotics!
