Is hypnosis safe for shadow work or dealing with negative entities?

Absolutely, yes!

I have had many, many sessions where the client has faced great darkness that they’ve carried with them.

From my sessions, I’ve learned that darkness and negative entities are simply doing what they were designed to do, operating in the very best way that they know how. Therefore, it is important to treat them with love and respect just as you would treat a negative person.

Fighting fire with fire is never effective and only makes matters worse. This is not to say that you should allow anyone (like darkness) to take advantage of you, though. As one client said while in hypnosis, “A guest may want to enter your home, but if you do not open the door for them… they simply do not enter.”

Sometimes, though, we do end up letting negative entities attach themselves to us. When this happens, that entity can transmit its pain, thoughts and habits to its host, the client. We can use hypnosis as an opportunity to face that darkness with compassion and understand where it’s coming from and why it’s hanging around.

According to Antonio Sangio, founder of Introspective Hypnosis, negative entities will attach themselves to a person when that person is exhibiting a particular vulnerability during a specific time in their life. So during hypnosis, that time of vulnerability can also be explored, understood and cleared so that it will not happen again.

Sangio says, “We do not acknowledge anything evil in our clients. Spirit attachments are spirits that are lost, confused that need as much help as our clients. We do therapy on the client and can also do therapy on the attachment. The idea is to find the story behind the attachment. (The attachments) are afraid, scared, confused and they want to scare you because they don’t want to face whatever their supposed to face before going to the Light. But we still treat them with love, respect, affection, find the story and we help them go to the Light.”

During one session, I worked with a woman who had been holding onto darkness for a very long time (beyond this life). She said she kept it contained because, by containing it, it wouldn’t hurt anyone else. We allowed the client to see and speak to the darkness directly. When I asked her of her first impressions of the darkness, she noticed how terribly sad this dark entity was for being misunderstood for so long. From there, we were able to have a compassionate dialogue about the darkness, understand it, and release it.
